After completing my marketing consulting assignment, when I descended from the building, suddenly it occurred to me that this was the same road with which I had a fifteen-year-old connection.
When I was in college, my teacher Mr. Abdul Rauf told me about a famous commercial area in Karachi called II Chundrigarh Road, named after Pakistan’s sixth Prime Minister, Ibrahim Ismail Chundrigarh.
Mr. Abdul Rauf was no ordinary teacher; his case studies were such that after studying them, a child could think himself as a businessman.
A few days later, I set out to see this dream street. I decided to walk on it to understand it and feel its impact.
Passing through the Karachi Stock Exchange, State Bank Museum, Habib Bank Plaza, Cotton Exchange, MCB Tower, and other tall buildings.
I envisioned the time when I would come to these buildings for business purposes. At that time, this dream seemed beyond the realm of possibilities.
As I was the first person in my family to pass matriculation, and my father was a taxi driver with no connections.
But the heart of a child shows dreams; where does reason come into play?
It just keeps showing dreams.
Alhamdulillah, with the help of Allah, the prayers of my parents, and the guidance of my teachers, that dream has come true.
Now Allah has granted me clients not only in Karachi and Pakistan but also in other countries.
However, the battle between the heart and mind continues, perhaps until death.
The heart’s job is to show dreams, and the mind’s job is to apply practicality.
And I am the one who listens to the mind but does what the heart says.
